Tonotopicalia (tō′nə-tŏp′ĭk′alja)
noun.
A broadcast pursuing a structural arrangement of the popular and the avant-garde in the auditory pathway, such that different tone frequencies and sun-drenched sensations are transmitted separately along specific parts of the structure.
This is music that draws up plans to experience it in person. Tunes cut as bumpers to NPR programming, eliciting exclamations of "neat!" Thoughtful renderings in pencil to paper; algorithmic overlays; nights, days in agony over buggy programming; working details out in performance.

Host: Steve Mason
Frequency: Monday, 11-12pm
Genre: Popular - Top 40.
During the hour, I will survey songs that made it all the way to number 1 on the Billboard Top 100 charts. The survey focuses on the first thirty-five years of the unofficial 'rock and roll era' -- 1955 - 1989. This show was inspired by the wonderful "American Top 40", starring Casey Kasem, which I listened to religiously each week as a youngster and teenager. As with the "AT40", I hope to not only entertain the listener by playing number one hits, but also to provide information and a little trivia for each of the songs.
KUZU Premier: SIXTH WAVE ~ FALL 2021 (10/04)
During the hour, I will survey songs that reached the Billboard Top 40 more than one time... we will listen to both the original and subsequent release(s) that made the charts. It will be fun to see which one peaked higher on the chart... many of them will surprise you! We will also survey the top songs from each year of the rock-n-roll era (1955-1989), based on the Billboard Hot 100 lists.

The Law of FM is not what you think it might be. I dig songcraft. I like dynamics and conviction, music that sounds like it fits in your ears, whether it's a scratchy little transistor radio or a state-of-the-art dodecahedrophonic system in Audiophile Shangri-La. It resonates in your bones. It rattles around in your brainpan. It is your very soul. It is your magic elixir and your bad mood fixer. Did I say I was a rocker? That's like nailing smoke to a wall. I also like music for soundtracks. Indies and alternative (but alternative to *what*, I ask you?). Electronica. Folk. Funk. Chamber music for all manner of chambers. Stuff from all over the globe and elsewhere. I hope you dig it all as much as i do. I also throw a mean curve ball, so watch out for those.

Could this be bipartisan magical connections? I do not know. The Show shall Spelunk musical tones and creative doings to align the melodic vibrations with improbability. A soundscape of groove that may summon a variety of moods, wrapping you musically with a snuggly blankey making a safe secure place for one to be themselves. To find the common thread of unity through Wonka-vision like auras summoning illuminati levels of procrastination. Side effects may include a physical manifestation to dance whilst washing the dishes, Lay on ones tummy to color on da floor, whatever task one does to justify the priority of the day to be blown off letting the inner child out to put the inner adult away for a nap. All this contained in a multi faceted flavor color sound mix freezing the concept of time allowing a creative flow to emerge from the cocoon of couth.

Every first and third Tuesday, One Hour Plateau will guide listeners on an excursion across a minimalist musical landscape.
We will begin our excursion with an ascent composing of dance-able electronic beats. As we leave this urbanized metropolitan landscape the scenery will slowly fade away as the sound becomes more and more minimal, until we reach our plateau. At this point the show will transition into a nearly featureless landscape of chilled out, relaxing minimal ambiance. We will coast along this plateau until eventually descending back into "reality" as the music will begin to transition into live instrumentation, and eventually leaving the listener in a more familiar and tangible place.
Please feel free to enjoy One Hour Plateau behind the wheel of an automobile, while studying, or just to unwind from a long day of work. Open your ears, relax your mind, and come join in for the ride on One Hour Plateau.

"I have a term that is called “nos-otras”, and I put a dash between the “nos” and the “otras”. The “nos” is the subject “we”, that is the people who were in power and colonized others. The “otras” is the “other”, the colonized group. Then there is also the dash, the divide between us. However, what is happening, after years of colonization, is that all the divides disappear a little bit because the colonizer, in [their] interaction with the colonized, takes on a lot of their attributes. And, of course, the person who is colonizing leaks into our stuff. So we are neither one nor the other; we are really both. There is not a pure other; there is not a pure subject and not a pure object. We are implicated in each other’s lives."
— Gloria Anzaldúa’s interview with Karin Ikas in Borderlands/La Frontera
